Pamela Atkinson’s paintings focus on color’s ability to surprise, comfort, and evoke mystery and memory. At the beginning of her career she experimented by creating multiple painting using the same subject and composition but varying the color pallets thus allowing the artwork to take on its own unique personality. Today, working in both watercolor and acrylic paint, Pamela is working with emergent forms and color to explore the seen and unseen world around us.
Pam also teaches, working with children and adults to develop their artistic talent. She has created learning projects for Inland school districts, participated in a variety of grant programs, and was the administrator of a successful, youth art program at the Riverside Art Museum. Helping children create art is her passion. “All children need to express themselves by drawing, painting, and making art. The ability to develop creative ideas, problem solve, and use perceptual thinking to visualize a unique work of art are skills that will set a student apart, no matter what they choose to study in college or pursue as a career.
